Poster – Baby Neurons (Set of 3 posters)

This set of 3 posters features an image of a baby crawling and a variety of neurons. Neurons text indicates methods by which parents can strengthen neural connections in their babies for building social relationships, language and cognitive development, and emotional development. These posters can be used by group leaders to explain the many ways parents are helping the development of their baby’s brain. Since babies have over 10 billion neurons at birth, each of which can make 100,000 connections, parents play an important role in strengthening the most important connections that will last over time. Some of the ways neurons are strengthened include – speaking “parent-ese”, eye contact, mirroring babies sounds and expressions, nurturing, familiar rhythmic motion, baby proofing, predictable routines, baby aerobics, reciprocal tango dance, singing songs and staying calm.
